Nice first episode but a few things:
Babylon 5 was written for 5 seasons but at the start of season 4 they were told they would not get a 5th season so they crammed seasons 4 and 5 into season 4. Once season 4 wrapped they were told they would be getting a 5th season so season 5 was an add on. That's why some actors are not in season 5 but appear in the searies final, the Season 5/series final was actually shot as the Season 4 final and got postponed till the end of 5.
Star Trek never finished it's 5 year journey, they got canceled after season 3.
And a pilot episode is not the first episode shown, it is the episode that is created to sell a show to the tv network. Firefly's Train Job is not a pilot because it aired first. Star Trek has 2 pilots, the original pilot "The Cage" never aired as it's own but is still a pilot.
